Disability: the last big taboo for businesses

Date: 20th May 2022
Location: Capital Group, 40 Grosvenor Place, London, England; United Kingdom SW1X 7GG
Whilst many organisations are prioritising DEI, fewer are actively working on disability. We wanted to raise awareness and change attitudes for the better.

With 14.1 million disabled people in the UK, this was an opportunity for the Investment and Savings Industry to improve how to recruit, retain and develop disabled people and ensure disabled clients and prospects are included.

The Diversity Project in partnership with Capital Group held this exclusive face to face event on the 19th May from 11am until 13.30hrs. We were honoured to feature a fireside chat with Baroness Morrissey, David Forbes-Nixon and Lord Shinkwin, who are well known for championing disability equality issues. At the event, attendees heard about the aims and goals of our Disability Workstream, and about the launch of an exciting new campaign #WeAre.

Let’s raise awareness of disability and inclusive practices, become a role model or ally and encourage your organisation to sign up to become Disability Confident.
