I was born and grew up in London. Watching my parents rebuild, retrain, and adapt to a new home, life and customs whilst always managing to support us and the wider community. ‘Nothing is impossible’ and ‘you can be anything’ were the mantras that surrounded me, as I grew up.

A very forward thinking and progressive attitude for the time. Taking them at their word, I joined the Investment Management industry in the early 90s during not a particularly great time in Markets. Like many of us, I experienced opportunity challenges progressing my fund management career. Fortunately, my perseverance paid off and I enjoyed, not only, a wonderful money management (Long and Long Short) but latterly, an Executive/Non-Executive career.

I am eternally optimistic that, as an industry, we can change and build a better path for our firms. It still should not have to be so difficult for talented individuals from diverse backgrounds, with innovative and alternative views to succeed and shine; in what is after all, an extremely dynamic Financial Services industry. Bringing ‘Equity’ into our industry via inclusion and diversity can only lead to better outcomes for our clients, society, firms, and industry we work for.

As an ambassador of the Diversity Project being part of the change to embrace the incredibly diverse talent we have, truly drives me. Broadening the way, we build our firms and resource pool we tap into, opens our ability to harness remarkable ideas.
