Luiza Barwood

I hail from Brazil originally, but London has held a special place in my heart since the age of sixteen when I first arrived to pursue my secondary education. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of living in diverse places such as Brazil, New York, and returning to London once more.

Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging are not just topics of interest for me; they are fundamental values that I hold dear. As a HR professional, a woman, a divorced working mother from a minority group working in financial services, these principles are at the core of my work and personal mission.

My academic pursuits culminated in the achievement of a Master’s degree in Human Resource Management from Birkbeck College. Currently, I lead the Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning department at C&G Regulatory Solutions, a boutique compliance consultancy known for delivering top-tier regulatory expertise to C-suite executives across diverse sectors within the financial services industry.

Recently, I had the privilege of completing a transformative Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion program at Cornell University, equipping me with fresh insights and best practices. This newfound knowledge fuels my passion to take a leading role in driving positive change by spearheading DEIB initiatives within the financial services sector.

I am absolutely delighted to have become an Ambassador for the Diversity Project. This role allows me to play an active part in our shared mission to cultivate a more diverse and inclusive workspace within the financial services sector.
