I am white British, went to co-ed comprehensive schools and then to Oxford University, where I read Law. During my teenage years I was a member of the Anti-Apartheid Movement. I started my career with Slaughter and May in 1993, where I qualified as a solicitor. Subsequently I joined Baring Asset Management, where I became Head of UK Legal. Since 2007 I have been Partner, General Counsel at BlueBay Asset Management LLP. I was appointed to BlueBay’s Management Committee in 2017; and following Royal Bank of Canada’s acquisition of BlueBay, in 2022 I became a member of RBC’s British Isles Diversity Leadership Committee. I am also a Director of Minsheng Royal Fund Management, China.
I am married, with three children.
