I grew up alongside international populations learning about different cultures and the beauty of being surrounded by diversity. This encouraged me to move abroad to England and earn a BSc degree in Sociology. I read classical and contemporary sociological theories, studied theorists, analysed societal issues and policy making. The key take away was that the fight for equality has been a constant throughout social life, and although it has arguably reached a level of higher importance on everyone’s agendas, the fight is not over.
The importance of diversity representation is higher than ever in this globalised world. Therefore, learning about and supporting Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in the professional world and its strategic as well as mobilizing benefits to companies and people has been an informative and motivating journey so far.
