I am white British, brought up in Oldham, Greater Manchester.\u00a0 Staying in the north, I read French and German at Durham University.<\/p>\n
I came to London and qualified as a solicitor at Slaughter and May specialising in corporate finance.\u00a0 I then had 11 years\u2019 experience in general counsel positions in the private equity sector and have now spent 10 years in asset management.<\/p>\n
I founded the Private Equity Lawyers Forum in 2003 and ran a women in biotech networking group raising funds for charities in women\u2019s empowerment.\u00a0 I have served on the Professional Standards Committee of Invest Europe, chairing its Responsible Investment Roundtable, served on the Responsible Investment Board of the British Venture Capital Association and served as a member of the Investment Association\u2019s Financial Crime Committee.<\/p>\n
I am a trustee of The Big House Theatre providing performing arts experience for care-leavers, mentor for Black Women in Asset Management and on the Advisory Council of Trevelyan College, Durham.<\/p>\n
