Head of Inclusion & Diversity
I am white British, born and raised in York and educated at a comprehensive school in Easingwold. Leaving after A levels I chose not to undertake an undergraduate degree and instead began a career in Financial Services.
Joining the Financial Services industry in 1998 I enjoyed a wide variety of roles from client facing and training to operations management and business development. I spent 16 years with HBOS and Lloyds where I became a Chartered Financial Planner and Fellow of the CII.
In 2013 I took three years out to start a family and joined St. James’s Place Wealth Management in 2016. In my first two years I led both the Business and Investment Change functions and directed a number of initiatives to promote inclusion and diversity within the work place, also chairing the Great Place to Work committee.
I took on my current role as Head of Inclusion & Diversity earlier this year and am now responsible for leading our inclusion and diversity strategy across the group. I believe that creating inclusive environments where people feel they can be themselves enables us to unlock the real benefits of a truly diverse workforce where everyone has the opportunity to achieve their potential. If we want to build sustainable businesses we must nurture and grow talent which means welcoming diverse perspectives and embracing difference.
I now live in the Cotswolds with my husband Mark who also works in Financial Services and our two daughters Sofia, 5 and Ruby, 4. Spending time together as a family is precious and Mark and I help each other to balance the commitments of our work with family life.
