I am white British, born in London and grew up in Essex [where I went to grammar school that was turned into a co-ed comprehensive]. I attended Coventry University where I studied business law and then went on to Bar School in London. I practised general common law before being tempted into the world of finance, beginning at a brokerage house circa 25 years ago. I worked at both Lehman Brothers and Barclays Capital in a variety of roles across Asia, New York and London.
I have been at Man Group since 2008 and am the Group COO and General Counsel. I am the chair of our Drive (Diversity and Inclusion) Steering Committee and senior sponsor of our [email protected] and BEAM (Black Employee and Allies at Man) employee networks. I lead and participate in various industry diversity and inclusion initiatives, including the Speakers4Schools programme and as chair to the AIMA diversity and inclusion working group.
I am based in New York and have a wife, a son and two very energetic cockapoos.
