As a privately-educated white British heterosexual my only diversity credential is that I am a woman and I took an 8-year career break before joining the asset management industry in 2015.
I currently lead the Advanced Bond Beta (or Buy & Maintain in common parlance) Solutions Management Credit team at Schroders. In my spare time I am the co-chair of the Diversity Project’s returners workstream and a mother to three children and a labradoodle. I am passionate about stopping the brain-drain of mid-career women and am supported in this quest by my 13-year-old daughter who is the staunchest feminist I know.
I have worked in finance since 1995, when I bought a one-way ticket to Moscow and joined Renaissance Capital. My career subsequently took a more traditional path when I joined Credit Suisse and then RBS in London before leaving the City following the birth of my second child.
I have a degree in Modern Languages (German and Russian) from Cambridge University.
