Penelope is Chief Strategy Officer for Corporate & Institutional Services, the business unit dedicated to managing, administering and servicing investment portfolios for sophisticated global asset owners and asset managers. Corporate & Institutional Services has 10000 staff in 26 worldwide locations, supporting 2300 clients in 56 countries, with USD 10trillion of assets under administration and USD 900billion assets under management.

Penelope is responsible for strategic planning and implementation of the global strategy for Northern Trust’s institutional business, as well as the ongoing execution and refinement of strategic imperatives to capitalise on industry trends, regulation, technology and innovation. Penelope’s remit includes market entry, strategic partnerships and acquisitions, client engagement and global marketing. She is also responsible for global learning, business governance, diversity and inclusion.

Prior to Penelope’s role as CSO she was responsible for Northern Trust’s asset owner business in the EMEA region, providing asset servicing / investment management solutions for institutional investors. In this capacity her teams were responsible for business development, relationship management, marketing, product delivery and strategy. Penelope was also responsible for managing Northern Trust’s offices across the region, including Netherlands, Sweden, Abu Dhabi and Saudi Arabia.

Penelope is a Management Committee member of Northern Trust Securities Inc and the Corporate & institutional Services global leadership group. She is also involved in various charity committees and is on the Advisory Board of the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. She has a long-standing nomination from the Financial News Top 100 Women in Finance and is an active participant in several leading organisations championing women in business. She is also head of Northern Trust’s EMEA LGBT diversity group.
