Matt Cameron (he/him/his) – Global Managing Director at LGBT Great, Board Member of the Diversity Project
I am a white British and a proud member of the LGBT+ community. I obtained a BA Honour’s degree in Medieval & Modern History from the University of Birmingham and was the first person in my family to attend university. I am originally from Lytham St Annes, Blackpool in the northwest of England. My Dad is a Gardener, my brother a diary farmer and my Mum works for Blackpool council. I found accessing our industry very tough as I didn’t have any contacts. I moved to the bright lights of London in 2009 and started my career within the investment management industry as a recruiter. In 2015, I went on to Co-Found The Ocean Partnership, a recruitment consultancy focussed on attracting niche and specialist talent across the investment management and broader financial service industry. In January 2019, I Founded LGBT Great, which has grown into a global membership platform of over 50 organisations working together to improve LGBT+ sustainability. I am an adviser to boards and business on recruitment, diversity and inclusion issues, and very proud to have been involved with the Diversity Project since the beginning.
