I am white British although my paternal grandmother was German. I was born in the North West of England, moving to Hertfordshire at a young age and attending an all girls comprehensive school. I returned to the North for university, attending the Uni of Manchester and studying Geology, and then staying permanently for work.
I entered the world of finance in 2014 as an investment consultant at Mercer before changing career and following my passion to become a Senior Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Consultant in 2021. I am the Global Strategic Initiatives Leader for Mercer Pride, following several years in the UK leadership team. I am also a founding member of a local Lean In group.
I founded www.diversitydreaming.com in 2020 to provide a safe space for diversity champions, HR professionals and business owners to ask questions and learn more about diversity, equity and inclusion. Through this I provide webinars and coaching to businesses.
I got married last year and my husband is doing a post-doc remotely whilst I work full time from home in the room next door in our home in Wilmslow.
