I am white, British and female, and consider myself a Londoner having lived there most of my life. And, although I have always lived in the UK, I have travelled extensively throughout for both work and pleasure. I have two children and a very energetic dog.
Until last year I was a full-time partner at Oliver Wyman and have since moved to a portfolio career. I remain associated with Oliver Wyman as Partner Emeritus working on selected projects, in addition to several other investment-related non-executive roles. Before this I ran several businesses for Mercer, and started my career at SG Warburg, becoming a portfolio manager at Mercury Asset Management (now BlackRock).
For most of my working life I have been involved in inclusion and diversity – encouraged by the fact that my first two bosses were women. More recently I was a founding member of Oliver Wyman’s Inclusion Council, on the steering committee for their Women in Financial Services programme, and a career advisor and mentor to female consultants.
I have a degree in Mathematics and Computer Science from Cambridge University, a combination that was extremely unusual when I joined the City.
