I am an Australian woman who has been living in the UK for the last decade and am a mother to three young children. I’ve worked in a range of HR roles across a number of industries, including mining, government and finance.
Being able to contribute professionally to progressing on diversity and inclusion is what gets me out of bed every workday – it truly is a passion.
There are the ethical drivers for D&I of course, such as creating equal opportunity and level playing fields, but beyond that, we know diversity brings competitive advantage in terms of greater innovation, decision making and management of risk. And I believe the reason for this is very simple: attracting in diverse mindsets, and positively recognising employees for their different experiences and contributions, means a happier and more productive workforce.
