I have worked in human resources for over 25 years, qualifying as a Fellow with the CIPD just over 10 years ago. My role at PwC set the foundations and my interest on the broad range of people management issues but specifically diversity and inclusion. I have taken on roles since within local and central government and the private sector companies including a major role leading people change and DI at a large police force, working directly with the Chief Constable, setting the parameters where we needed to test boundaries and stereotypes.
Two years ago, I moved from a regulated corporate to join a smaller investment management company as Head of Human Resources, now part of the Executive Committee, leading on all people issues, specifically the pay gender gap, succession planning, growing talent and focus on broader diversity and inclusion. We have managed to increase diversity across gender and ethnicity to just over 40%. This is unique when comparing us to other asset management companies.
