Elena Koycheva

Bulgarian by nationality, I was raised with ambition and passion at heart and have worked hard against adversity and disbelief to succeed and achieve my goal to develop a successful career in the financial services sector.

I received my Bachelor’s Degree at Richmond, the American International University in London, UK and pursued my postgraduate studies in finance in Paris, France. I speak Bulgarian, English and French and studied Russian and German. I am very passionate about diversity and inclusion, an aspect that I learnt to especially appreciate and promote as part of my university studies and later on in my professional career. In addition, I am a CFA charterholder, a CAIA charterholder and a CIPM designation holder.

I am a member of the Global Business Development Team at BlueBay Asset Management where I am also the co-vice chair of the Diversity and Inclusion Forum. Prior to joining BlueBay, I worked at Goldman Sachs Asset Management where I was providing pensions and multi-asset class investment management solutions to defined benefit pension plans. My first career in investment management started at the Paris office of Candriam Investors Group (formerly Dexia Asset Management) where I acquired experience in performance analysis and business development.

I contribute my spare time to various volunteering initiatives within the financial services sector. I lead the Careers in the Investment Sector Working Group and am a member of the Volunteering Steering Committee at the CFA UK Society. I am also a member of the Executive Committee of the CAIA London Chapter and a member of 100 Women in Finance and Women in Banking and Finance. I also participate in a number of mentoring programs to help professionals develop their careers within the investment sector.
