I am a white Yorkshireman – born and bred! I attended a “bog standard” comprehensive school and then went to Newcastle University to read Philosophy & Politics. I was the first person in my family to go to University – only possible because of getting a full grant.
I joined Mercer after leaving University and had a fascinating time advising clients from retail to aerospace and especially in financial services.
I left to join PPP where I stayed till the lure of consulting drew me to PwC. I had a spell in banking and then joined the trade body world.
After running two trade associations I set up TheCityUK to bring together the industry, nationally, and am now delighted to be leading the IA.
I am married to Fiona, who also grew up in Yorkshire, and we have three kids. This year we “enjoyed” getting the results of their Finals, A Levels, and GCSEs!
