Andy Sowerby is a managing director and the head of the International Client Group at Allspring Global Investments. In this capacity, he is responsible for leading the evolution of Allspring’s international business and for identifying ways to serve the firm’s existing and prospective client base. Prior to his current role, Andy was with Legg Mason, where he served as chief executive officer for the Australia and New Zealand region and head of Asia Pacific ex-Japan. Before that, Andy was the executive director and head of sales, marketing, and product development and communications at Martin Currie. Earlier roles for him include serving as a managing director, co-head of retail distribution U.K. and Europe, and global head of marketing for Investec Asset Management, as well as head of discretionary, intermediary, and direct sales at Scottish Widows Fund Management. Andy began his investment industry career in 1988. He has earned a higher national diploma in business economics from Edinburgh Napier University.
