Chair of SMART Working workstream
I am white Croatian and British with Slovenian and Italian heritage. My primary education was in Opatija, a coastal town in Northern Croatia. I took an opportunity to study abroad and in 2008 moved to London. I graduated with a BA (Hons) in International Business from Kingston University. I hold 8 years of talent acquisition experience specifically within European Distribution in Investment Management.
My passion is to encourage and inspire women, in particular those from varied backgrounds whose experiences provide diversity of thought and drive innovation, to join the investment management industry.
I chair the SMART Working workstream with an aim to promote agile/flexible working practices across the savings and investment industry. This involves leading, influencing and empowering a team of industry professionals from Diversity Project member firms to drive the change across the industry.
My belief in SMART Working is based on the unequivocal evidence that empowering individuals to work more effectively and efficiently improves individual and team performance. It offers employees with a better work life balance, increases wellbeing and improves employee engagement. Employees’ performance should be measured by their output rather then the legacy time spent at the office.
Companies’ fortunes are based on their ability to attract and retain the best and brightest talent. In the shorter term, SMART Working practices will impact ongoing industry efforts to address gender imbalances. In the longer term, it will help employers align with social change and to create an inclusive culture.
