I am a black first generation immigrant and sports enthusiast with a penchant for baking – often at the detriment of my blood sugar levels! Working within the Savings and Investment industry was never a mapped out career path but as a result of a school geography trip to the city of London. Seeing the hustle and bustle sparked a curiosity first, then a keen interest thereafter.
This motivated me to become the first in my family to seek a degree, gaining a Bsc in Physics at Royal Holloway, University of London. From there, after a lot of interviewing and some luck! I had my break working within the industry and five years later my current role is to analyse equity investment strategies for use in model portfolios at FE Investments.
Having worked hard to get on the professional ladder, my aim is not see it get pulled up with me but extended to those who need it, be it through mentoring, employee resource groups or wider cross-industry initiatives like the Diversity Project.
