#Time2Deliver: Diversity Project Annual Event

Date: 2nd October 2019
Location: Willis Towers Watson, The Willis Building, 51 Lime Street London, EC3M 7DQ

Over 330 investment industry professionals attended this Diversity Project’s Industry Event, kindly hosted by Willis Towers Watson on the 1st of October 2019.
“I’ve been worrying that the investment and savings industry is on the verge of a ‘Kodak’ moment, accepting the need to attract new diverse talent, but moving far too slowly. The fourth Diversity Project seminar has made me far more optimistic that we are on the verge of a real breakthrough.
The packed room, focus on culture and repeated talk of ‘transformation’ all showed a new level of intent and attention. Let’s  aim high now and treat the issue with greater urgency.”
– Helena Morrissey, Head of Personal Investing LGIM and Chairwoman of the Diversity Project
“I was struck by the strong emphasis on the need for cultural change in our organisations.  Policies and programs aren’t enough – we need to address day to day behaviour rooted in cultures that impede our ability to create truly inclusive workplaces.
The status quo in our industry is not acceptable (for example, just 4% of industry AUM is managed by women – this should shock us).  We need to confront the aspects of our working environments that have led us to this place”.
– Ed Francis, Head of EMEA Investments, Willis Towers Watson.
