LGBT History Month

LGBT Great, a Partner and supporter of the Diversity Project, invited you to their History Month webinar in partnership with Northern Trust, Investment Week and the Bisi Alimi Foundation.

This engaging online webinar not only marked the importance of History Month, but it also provided you an exclusive insight into the launch of the LGBT Great iiBT standards launching on 1st March 2022, as well as sharing with you several organisational tips and best practices.

What is History Month?

  • In 2022, LGBT Great is bringing together the intersection of diversity to mark History Month. February is US Black History Month is an annual observance originating in the United States, where it is also known as African American History Month. It has received official recognition from governments in the United States and Canada, and more recently has been observed in Ireland, and the United Kingdom.
  • February is also UK LGBT History Month is an annual celebration that provides learning and education about the historic challenges faced by the community. This celebration aims to educate young people about the journey of the rights movement and to promote inclusivity in modern society. LGBT History Month originated in the US in 1994 and started in the UK eleven years later in 2003.
