The Halsey Keetch Book Club – special session: Mental Health in the workplace, with guest Peter Slater #1

Date: 24th February 2022
In this special edition of the popular The Halsey Keetch* Book Club, they focused on the topic of Mental Wellbeing in the Workplace.

On this occasion they were delighted to be joined by Peter Slater who has 39 years of experience in the financial services industry. He has held a number of senior positions including Divisional Head of Client Service for the last 6 years of his career at Northern Trust (where he worked for 22 years).

Whilst at Northern Trust, Peter was also Divisional Head of D&I for 3 years and spearheaded a mental health campaign for which he received the Chairman’s Award. On leaving the business, Peter trained as a Mental Health First Aid instructor, qualifying in 2020.

As well as being an MHFA instructor he is also an associate trainer for City Mental Health Alliance. It will be fantastic to have Peter on each of the sessions, where he will give some opening comments.

* Halsey Keetch are a Partner and Supporter of the Diversity Project.

The date for this club was:

Thursday 24th February, at 8.15am (by Zoom). The session ran for an hour.

There was a choice of two books for this session:

‘The Chimp Paradox,’ by Professor Steve Peters, OR ‘Mental Health and Wellbeing in the Workplace,’ by Gill Hasson. You could choose whichever appeals to you, feel free to read the book or listen to the audio version. Simply bring your thoughts / ideas along to the session and share your views with the group. Peter will open with a short introduction commenting on his work across the industry too.

If you would like to attend future Halsey Keetch Book Club session, please email: Caroline Keetch – [email protected].
