Friday 24 October, 14:00-15:00
In this year’s celebration of Black History Month, we are delighted to shine the light on a well-known figure in our community, Dr Yvette Arthur, who is a Chartered Clinical psychologist with experience working with adults, children and families from different race, cultural and faith backgrounds.
In the first part of the event, Dr Yvette will bring to us The Tree of Life methodology approach, which is a hopeful and inspiring approach to working with children, young people and adults who have experienced hard times. We believe this is very relevant to our community in recent times. Dr Yvette will then join a panel discussion with the three Co-Leads of the Race to Equality Community (Kelly Tran, Saira Farooq and Daniel May) and there will be time for Q&A at the end of the session.
Through this event, we hope to convey that Black History Month is always a moment to pause and a time for all of us, not just the black community, to stand united and honour those who came before us, reflect on where we stand and look ahead to what we are building for the generations to come.
